I love Summer! Summer makes me think of ice cream, sno-cones, pool time, BBQ, lemonade, sun-kissed skin, warm nights, long days, light flowy dresses, and lots of family time. While Summer can be very hot in Texas, here are some reasons why you should book a Summer session:
#1 – More daylight
Did you know the longest day in Dallas has 9 hours and 59 mins. That’s almost 10 hours!! Wow, I don’t know about you but when there is that much more daylight, I always find myself being more productive. If you have young ones you may find that the sessions are much later in the day. The good news is that since school is out, you now have more time in the day to prepare for your session and not have to feel rushed. You get to have dinner with your family, and then have a later evening session while the sun is setting.
#2- Simple outfits
Summer is the perfect season to wear those long flowy, light beautiful dresses. Pair it with sandals/wedge and simple accessories and you’re good to go! The boys can wear a polo tee and a pair of shorts and slip-on canvas shoes. It doesn’t get any easier than that!
#3 – Greenery
Green leaves and trees always add such great dimension to pictures without being too distracting and taking away from the subject! Any backdrop with trees makes for great canvases or enlarged prints to go on the wall in any home. It’s simply classic, and timeless!
#4 – A variety of different themes
Warmer weather allows for any creative type of session your heart desires. Watermelon, lemonade stand, lake, beach, boat, horses/unicorn, patriotic, mermaid, sunflower, ice-cream, playground, camper, back-to-school, mommy and me, and so much more. The options are endless!
#5 – Sunrise/Sunset glow
This is by far my favorite! Whether you choose to have a sunrise or sunset session, one thing’s for sure and that is the sun will give you that gorgeous glow creating beautiful dreamy and creamy tones!
Final Tip
Opt for a sunrise session to beat the summer heat in the evenings and best of all – celebrate later with a sno cone or ice cream!! Yesss, please!! 😍
